This Privacy Policy explains how VocalReps ("we", "us", "the Service") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our voice training platform.

1. Information We Collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive:

• Name — displayed in the navigation bar
• Email address — used for authentication and rate limiting
• Profile picture — displayed in the navigation bar

We do not collect or store the content of your practice answers or the AI coaching feedback you receive. These are processed in real time and not persisted on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Authentication — to identify you and provide access to the AI coaching features
• Rate limiting — your email address is used as a key to enforce fair-use limits on AI requests, preventing abuse
• Display — your name and profile picture are shown in the app interface

We do not use your information for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it to train AI models.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate:

• Google OAuth — handles sign-in authentication. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic — generates AI practice questions and coaching feedback. Your practice content is sent to Anthropic's API. Governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• OpenAI — used as a fallback AI provider when Claude is unavailable. Governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
• Upstash Redis — stores rate limiting counters keyed to your email address. Data expires automatically. Governed by Upstash's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain your Google account information (name, email, profile picture) for as long as you have an active session. Rate limiting data in Upstash Redis expires automatically on a rolling window. We do not maintain a long-term user database at this time.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws, including the right to access, correct, or delete your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@vocalreps.app and we will respond within 30 days.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

We use session cookies for authentication. Your lesson progress is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key speakwise_lessons_v1. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves (for example, when payment processing is introduced). We will update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify users via email or an in-app notice.
